
12 NATURAL HOMEMADE CLEANERS that will clean, sanitize and disinfect everything in our homes

1. Natural Floor Cleaner
In a large bucket, mix:

1 gallon of warm water

½ cup white vinegar
-
1 tsp natural dish soap (from soapberries)

A few drops of lemon essential oil
Stir well, dip in your mop, wring out the excess, and mop your floors once or twice a week. Note: Not suitable for hardwood floors.
2. Mold and Mildew Cleaner
Option 1:

2 cups white vinegar
-
2 tsp tea tree essential oil
Pour into a spray bottle, shake, spray over mold/mildew areas, and leave for 24 hours.
Option 2 (for deep cleaning):
-
½ cup baking soda
-
¼ cup rubbing alcohol
-
½ tsp tea tree oil
-
¼ cup water
Mix into a paste, apply over moldy areas, scrub with an old toothbrush, and wipe with a damp cloth.
3. All-Purpose Surface Cleaner
(For all surfaces except glass)
Mix together:

¾ cup water
-
1 tsp natural dish soap
-
¼ cup rubbing alcohol
-
A few drops of your favorite essential oil
Transfer to a spray bottle, spray on surfaces, and wipe clean with a damp cloth.
4. Sink Scrub Cleaner

Combine:
-
2 cups baking soda
-
10 drops clove essential oil
-
10 drops lemon essential oil
-
1 tbsp castile soap
Mix and store in an airtight jar. Sprinkle over your sink, scrub with a sponge, and rinse thoroughly.
5. Homemade Laundry Detergent
Boil 4 cups of filtered water and dissolve 1 cup of salt in it. Add:

1.5 cups baking soda
-
1 cup Sal Suds or castile soap
-
1 tsp lemon essential oil
Mix well, add 16 more cups of filtered water, and store in a large container. Use ¼ cup per load. For natural fabric softener, use white vinegar in the softener compartment.
6. Heavy-Duty Kitchen Cleaner

Mix:

¼ cup natural dish soap
-
1 tsp water
-
A few drops of clove oil
-
¼ cup baking soda
Stir well. Apply on surfaces with a sponge, scrub, and wipe clean with a damp towel.
7. Homemade Dishwasher Pods
Combine:

1 cup washing soda
-
1 cup baking soda
-
1 cup salt
-
1 tsp natural dish soap
-
10 drops lemon essential oil
Spray with water until the mixture is like wet sand and starts to clump. Press into silicone molds or ice cube trays and let dry for 24 hours.
To use: Add 1–2 pods to the detergent compartment.
Natural rinse aid: Fill the rinse aid dispenser with undiluted white vinegar or place a dishwasher-safe bowl with ½ cup of vinegar on the top rack.
8. Tile and Grout Cleaner
Option 1: Make a paste with:

2 parts baking soda
-
1 part hydrogen peroxide
-
1 part dish soap
Scrub grout with a toothbrush and tiles with a larger brush. Let sit for 1 hour or overnight. Rinse with warm water.
Option 2 (spray):

4 cups hot water
-
¼ cup baking soda
-
¼ cup rubbing alcohol
-
¼ cup lemon juice
-
30 drops lemon essential oil
Spray, let sit for a few hours, then rinse.
9. Disinfectant Surface Spray
In a spray bottle, combine:

½ cup white vinegar
-
1½ cups water
-
1 tsp olive oil
-
10 drops lemon oil
-
10 drops lavender oil
Shake well. Spray on surfaces, let sit for 10 minutes, then wipe clean with a microfiber cloth.
10. Glass Cleaner
Mix in a spray bottle:

2 cups water
-
¼ cup white vinegar
-
¼ cup rubbing alcohol
-
1 tbsp cornstarch
Shake before use. Spray directly on glass or microfiber cloth, wipe, and let air dry. Cornstarch helps polish without scratching.
11. Degreaser Spray

(Not for wooden surfaces)
Mix:

2 cups water
-
1 tbsp baking soda
-
2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
-
½ tsp castile soap
Transfer to a spray bottle, spray on greasy areas, and wipe clean with a microfiber cloth.
12. Toilet Cleaner Pods
Mix:

1 cup baking soda
-
½ cup citric acid
-
1–2 tsp castile soap
-
A few drops lemon or tea tree oil
Press into a silicone mold or ice cube tray and let harden. Store in a jar. Drop 1 pod in the toilet bowl, let fizz, then flush.
Liquid toilet cleaner:

2 cups water
-
½ cup baking soda
-
½ cup citric acid
-
½ cup castile soap
-
Essential oil drops
Extra disinfectant: Spray hydrogen peroxide on the seat and lid, let sit a few minutes before wiping down.
