Fans of dark comedies should hurry — one of the most unique and highly praised series on Netflix will soon disappear from the platform.

The show in question is Kevin Can F**k Himself, a bold and genre-blending drama-comedy that originally aired on AMC. Starring Schitt’s Creek’s Annie Murphy as Allison McRoberts, it tells the story of a woman trapped in a toxic, emotionally abusive marriage with her boorish, immature husband, played by Eric Petersen.

On the surface, their life appears like a lighthearted, laugh-track-filled sitcom, complete with slapstick humor and a brightly lit multi-camera setup. But when Allison is alone, the tone shifts entirely — transforming into a dark, single-camera drama that explores her resentment, inner struggles, and growing determination to escape.

This creative format and its unflinching portrayal of an abusive relationship earned the series widespread critical acclaim, holding an impressive 91% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Many viewers have called it “the best thing” they’ve ever watched, with some saying it’s even better on a second viewing.

Despite its popularity, Kevin Can F**k Himself will be leaving Netflix on Monday, August 18, 2025. The complete two-season, 16-episode run will still be available to stream afterward on AMC+ through Amazon Prime Video or Apple TV as an add-on.

For fans who haven’t seen it yet — or those wanting to revisit it — now is the time. With its sharp writing, standout performances, and inventive approach to storytelling, this “hidden gem” remains one of the most compelling shows of its kind.
