A devastating three-vehicle crash in Texas has claimed the lives of a father and his two young children, leaving behind a grieving wife and mother.

Authorities confirmed that Tommy Moorehead III, 41, his four-year-old son Tommy Jr., and six-year-old daughter Lynnlee were killed in the fiery accident on Saturday afternoon.

The Crash

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), the collision occurred on FM-3133 when a 2007 Dodge 3500 attempted to pass a 2017 Toyota Tacoma in a no-passing zone. The Dodge collided head-on with a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Moorehead.

The impact caused the Chevrolet to burst into flames, trapping Tommy and his children inside. All three were pronounced dead at the scene.

Arrest and Charges

The driver of the Dodge, 63-year-old Rocky Patterson, was arrested by the Texas Highway Patrol. Patterson has been charged with three counts of manslaughter, a second-degree felony, and remains in Grayson County Jail on a $3 million bond.

Authorities confirmed that the incident remains under active investigation.

A Family Shattered

The tragedy has left Tommy’s wife, Brooke Mustard Moorehead, without her husband and children. A GoFundMe page was created to support her during this unimaginable loss.

“In a single instant, Brooke lost everything,” the fundraiser reads. “Tommy was a devoted husband and father, a kind soul who worked hard and loved his family with his whole heart.”

The tribute continued by honoring the children:

  • “Lynnlee was full of life, joy, and curiosity.”

  • “Little Tommy Jr. was just beginning his journey in the world, always smiling and full of love.”

Brooke, described as “an anchor in our restaurant family for almost a decade – loyal, hardworking, compassionate, and strong,” is now facing what friends and family called “the unimaginable.”

Community Support

The GoFundMe campaign aims to help Brooke with funeral costs and other unexpected expenses following the tragedy.

“No one should have to go through this alone,” the page states. “We hope to rally around her with the love and support she so deeply deserves.”

As of Monday, more than $92,000 of the $150,000 goal has been raised.

This heartbreaking tragedy has not only devastated a family but also shaken the local community, which is now coming together to support Brooke through her profound loss.
