🧁 Ingredients

For the Cupcakes:

  • 1 cup (125g) all-purpose flour

  • 1/2 cup (50g) unsweetened cocoa powder

  • 1/2 tsp baking soda

  • 1/2 tsp baking powder

  • 1/4 tsp salt

  • 2/3 cup (135g) granulated sugar

  • 1/2 cup (120ml) vegetable oil

  • 2 large eggs

  • 1/2 cup (120ml) buttermilk or whole milk

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1/3 cup (100g) Nutella (for swirling or filling)

For the Frosting:

  • 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, softened

  • 3/4 cup (225g) Nutella

  • 1½ cups (180g) powdered sugar, sifted

  • 2 tbsp milk or heavy cream

  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

  • Pinch of salt

1. Preheat Oven:
Preheat to 175°C (350°F). Line a cupcake pan with paper liners.

2. Prepare the Dry Ingredients:
In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.

3. Mix the Wet Ingredients:
In a separate large bowl, beat sugar and oil until smooth. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in buttermilk and vanilla extract.

4. Combine:
Slowly add the dry ingredients into the wet mixture. Mix just until smooth (don’t overmix).

5. Fill & Swirl:
Fill cupcake liners 2/3 full. Add 1 tsp of Nutella to each center and swirl with a toothpick, or leave it whole for a gooey surprise center.

6. Bake:
Bake for 18–20 minutes. Test doneness with a toothpick on the outer edge. Let cool completely.

  1. Beat softened butter and Nutella until creamy and fluffy.

  2. Gradually mix in sifted powdered sugar.

  3. Add vanilla, milk/cream, and a pinch of salt. Beat until light and spreadable.

  • Add sprinkles, chocolate chips, or drizzle more Nutella on top.
