
🍵 Matcha Cupcakes with White Chocolate Hearts
Ingredients
For the cupcakes:

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 tsp baking powder

1/4 tsp salt

1 tbsp matcha green tea powder

1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened)

2/3 cup granulated sugar

2 large eggs
-
1 tsp vanilla extract
-
1/3 cup milk
For the frosting:

1 cup unsalted butter (softened)
-
2 1/2 cups powdered sugar
-
1 tbsp matcha powder
-
2 tbsp heavy cream or milk
-
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
For decoration:
-
White chocolate (melted, to make heart shapes)
-
A little extra matcha powder for dusting
Instructions

Prepare the white chocolate hearts:

Melt white chocolate in a heatproof bowl over simmering water (or in microwave at 30-second intervals).

Pour into silicone heart molds and refrigerate until set.

Bake the cupcakes:

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.

In a bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, salt, and matcha powder.

In another bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

Add eggs one at a time, then vanilla extract.

Gradually mix in dry ingredients, alternating with milk, until batter is smooth.

Divide into cupcake liners and bake for 18–20 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let cool completely.

Make the frosting:

Beat softened butter until creamy.

Gradually add powdered sugar and matcha powder.

Mix in vanilla and heavy cream until frosting is fluffy.

Assemble:

Pipe matcha frosting onto cooled cupcakes in swirls.

Dust lightly with matcha powder.

Place a white chocolate heart on top of each cupcake.
