A routine Norwegian Airlines flight turned into a terrifying ordeal on Wednesday when a Boeing 737 was forced to make an emergency landing after one of its tires exploded shortly after takeoff from Stockholm, Sweden. The aircraft had been bound for Paris, carrying more than 140 passengers, when the frightening incident unfolded.

Passengers reported hearing a sudden “explosive bang” just minutes after the plane lifted off the runway. What many initially thought might be an engine malfunction or even an onboard explosion was soon confirmed to be a blown-out tire.
